Professional Mindset from BLES, Beyond Salary, Embracing Self-Valu
Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya recently hosted a seminar titled “From Student to Professional,” aimed at equipping students and recent graduates with a realistic perspective on the professional world. The event featured industry professionals who emphasized the importance of cultivating the right mindset at the onset of one's career.
The seminar's primary focus was to shift graduates' perspectives from solely seeking high salaries to finding work environments that foster long-term learning and growth. The initial phase of a career should be utilized to develop professional competencies and character.
One of the keynote speakers, Henrianto, Commercial Director of PT Superior Prima Sukses Tbk (BLES), highlighted the significance of mental preparedness and a passion for learning. He advised the 200 seminar participants, “Don’t just ask about the salary; inquire about what you can learn. If you keep learning, the salary will follow.”
Henrianto also encouraged students to actively contribute and learn as integral members of the company's ecosystem, rather than merely serving as temporary employees.
This seminar broadened participants' understanding that the professional world is a journey of growth, not a place for instant success. It is hoped that new graduates will become adaptive, resilient professionals ready to face contemporary challenges
