Green Revolution BLES, Solar Energy as a Weapon Towards Sustainability

This article is adapted from INVESTOR.ID

Sustainability principles have become an urgent need for various industries to maintain environmental balance in the future. One tangible step companies can take is adopting renewable energy, such as solar power, for their operations. By utilizing clean energy, companies not only reduce carbon emissions but also contribute to the global net zero emission targets.

One manufacturing company of lightweight bricks, PT Superior Prima Sukses Tbk (BLES), has begun transitioning to New and Renewable Energy (EBT) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Suryanesia to integrate Solar Power Generation System (PLTS) on the roofs of its factories. The initial installation of Solar Panels will begin at the Lamongan factory in East Java, and Sragen in Central Java, followed by factories at other locations.

Rheza Roswell Adhihusada, Director of PT Centra Multi Suryanesia, stated that the collaboration with BLES is based on the Solar-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, designed to help businesses utilize clean energy without initial investment.

Rheza hopes this initiative will inspire other manufacturing companies to contribute to emission reductions.

"We appreciate the strategic step taken by PT Superior Prima Sukses Tbk in becoming a pioneer in the use of solar energy in the lightweight brick manufacturing sector. Of course, we hope that in the long term, this initiative will have a positive impact for both BLES and the environment, and contribute to Indonesia's decarbonization efforts," said Rheza.

Hendra Widodo, Production Director of BLES, explained that the company is not only focusing on product innovation but also on social and environmental responsibility. By utilizing solar energy as a supporting resource, BLES hopes to become a pioneer in the environmentally friendly building materials industry in Indonesia.

"The implementation of solar panels at BLES factories is a strategic long-term move, expected to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and support the government's program toward net zero emissions by 2060," explained Hendra.

Henrianto added that, in addition to supporting government programs, the company hopes to provide a positive long-term impact for the community.

"The installation of solar panels not only reduces the use of fossil fuels and improves air quality, but also opens up opportunities for green energy investment for sustainable welfare," explained Henri.

The total capacity of solar panels to be installed at BLES factories will reach 3.2 Mega Watts (MW). Overall, these solar panels will supply around 20% of the total energy needs at each factory.
